This Lido Shores renovation incorporated reducing 7 bedrooms to 5, creating an under stair wine cellar, and doubling the liveability area by creating a 2,000 SQ FT outdoor experience featuring a kitchen, hot tub, refurbished pool, entertainment areas, and a stunning tropical landscape vibe.
This award-winning Lido Shores remodel transformed a heavily used seven-bedroom rental property into a refined five-bedroom coastal contemporary home designed for modern Sarasota living.
The owners wanted to move beyond the home’s previous layout and condition, creating a more intentional residence with better flow, stronger indoor-outdoor connection, and an expansive outdoor living experience. Murray Homes reworked the floor plan, reduced the bedroom count from seven to five, created a dedicated study, and added custom details including an under-stair wine cellar. The remodel also doubled the home’s livable experience outdoors with a 2,000-square-foot entertainment area featuring an outdoor kitchen, hot tub, refurbished pool, lounge areas, and tropical landscaping.
Behind the finished design, the project required significant structural and technical work. Previous renovations had left unresolved safety and structural issues, so Murray Homes added beams and steel throughout to improve structural integrity. Plumbing, electrical, windows, drywall, flooring, trim, bathrooms, closets, and interior finish work were all reconfigured or updated as part of the full renovation scope. The exterior and pool areas were also extensively remodeled.
Completed on time and on budget, the result is a NARI CotY award-winning Lido Key remodel that feels open, current, and highly livable. What began as an overused rental property is now a sophisticated coastal contemporary home with the indoor comfort, outdoor entertaining space, and construction quality expected in one of Sarasota’s most distinctive neighborhoods.
