About the Lake Club Carriage House
Located in the exclusive Lake Club community of Lakewood Ranch, this project was undertaken for a Chicago-based family seeking additional space to accommodate their multi-generational household. The goal was to add a detached structure that seamlessly matched the existing Tuscan-style architecture—so it would appear as though it had always been part of the property.
Murray Homes collaborated with both an out-of-state architect and a local architect to finalize plans that met the project’s design requirements and complied with local building regulations. The new carriage house addition included a third-car garage, a dedicated workshop, and storage space for a cherished vintage Mustang. The end result is an elegant addition that echoes the primary residence’s Tuscan aesthetic while providing the family with functional living space and practical storage solutions.
Challenges & Successes
Ensuring architectural consistency, integrating specialized storage for a classic car, and achieving compliance with local building codes were among the key challenges.
