The level of planning in this house was highly critical and the structure takes much longer to build than a traditional home. The level of accuracy and finishing details required that we only use the finest trades to achieve it. This was a truly collaborative effort with collective decision making between all involved to achieve the very best outcomes.
This was a tear down on a lot in a very established, old Sarasota neighborhood with the Modern design formulated around a vast Banyan and oak trees. The client remit was to build the main and a guest house positioned on two separate lots, connected for livability and not infringing on the setbacks. They should also both be able to sold independently in future.
Construction techniques and schedules were very different to a normal house, as the modern design style and simplicity required every detail to be highly visible. This included concrete walls, polished concrete floors and level 5 drywall, with visual lines designed to meet up seamlessly and have relevance to each other.
