Build or remodel in Sarasota with a modern design that stays livable
Along Sarasota’s Phillippi Creek, a new Creek Contemporary home is taking shape that proves you don’t have to choose between modern architecture and a welcoming, comfortable lifestyle. Designed with clean lines, natural materials, and a plan that opens to nature, this residence shows how a custom home can feel both strikingly different and completely livable.
Murray Homes specializes in creating unique homes like this—whether starting from the ground up or transforming an existing property through remodeling.
A Sarasota home designed around nature
This 4,046 sq ft residence sits on a two-acre lot under a canopy of mature oaks. The design is carefully aligned with its surroundings, framing long views of Phillippi Creek and preserving the shade and ambiance of Old Florida. Deep roof overhangs and a clerestory band bring soft daylight inside while protecting privacy and comfort.
For families considering a new home or remodel, this approach demonstrates how design can respect the site while elevating everyday living.
Modern architecture made warm with natural materials
While the lines are contemporary, the feeling is anything but cold. Warm wood ceilings and soffits extend across indoor and outdoor spaces. A board-formed masonry chimney adds weight and texture. High-performance glass connects the living areas to the outdoors, and muted stone terraces tie the house back to the site.
This balance of modern form with tactile, organic materials is what makes the home stunning yet inviting—a principle that translates equally well to remodeling kitchens, living areas, or outdoor spaces.
Living indoors and outdoors without boundaries
Pocketing glass doors, flush thresholds, and aligned lighting create seamless transitions between great room, lanai, and landscape. The result is a home that works for Sarasota living year-round—from shaded summer afternoons to winter evenings by the hearth.
It’s a model for anyone who wants to remodel or build a home where entertaining and daily life flow naturally between indoors and outdoors.
Familiar comfort in a unique design
Behind its striking architecture, the layout feels intuitive. The kitchen is placed at the heart of the plan, bedrooms are private, and circulation paths are short and filled with daylight. This makes the home easy to live in while still offering a fresh, distinctive design.
It’s proof that modern homes can be both unique and comfortable—not experimental, but enduring.
Construction precision built by Sarasota craftsmen
Murray Homes employs its own craftsmen—carpenters, trim specialists, and site supervisors—many with decades of experience building Sarasota’s most innovative homes. That continuity shows in the details:
- Long, perfectly straight eaves with hidden drainage for Gulf downpours
- Insulated roof decks that keep interiors quiet and efficient
- Engineered openings sized for both panoramic views and hurricane strength
- Exterior finishes installed with marine-grade fasteners for lasting durability
- Millwork-grade soffits and ceilings with aligned joints across long spans
It’s modern design delivered with Sarasota know-how, crafted to endure local climate and lifestyle.
Modern and traditional in harmony across Sarasota
Blending contemporary architecture with the warmth of traditional Sarasota living is a Murray Homes specialty. We apply this mindset to new custom homes and to remodels in neighborhoods from West of Trail to Lakewood Ranch. The goal is always the same—create a design that feels tailored, timeless, and truly livable.
